Located in Chatsworth at the end of Roscoe Blvd. is the Orcutt Ranch and surrounding ranch lands and orchards.
Named "Rancho Del Sombra Robles" which roughly translated means " Ranch of the Peaceful Oaks".
The Ranch was owned by Willam Orcutt and his wife Lucy.
Orcutt was a geologist and had made a substantial Oil strike in Kern County.
While surveying the Hancock Park area and La Brea Tar Pits, Orcutt made a huge oil discovery.
The Ranch was Finished in 1926. The city aquired the property in 1965 and it is now an historic center and also holds events and weddings.
